Hi there — I’m Matt, owner and lead designer at Outdoor Oasis Design and Build, and if you’re reading this, you’re probably thinking about transforming your outdoor space into something beautiful, relaxing, and a little more you. And let me just say: you’re in the right place.

Creating personalized, one-of-a-kind outdoor living spaces for homeowners across Southwest Florida is what my team and I do best. Whether you’re imagining a lush tropical garden, a backyard that flows seamlessly from your living room, or an entire outdoor retreat complete with a pool and palm trees swaying in the breeze — I’m here to help make it happen.

I’ve spent years designing and building custom landscapes throughout this beautiful part of the state, from Fort Myers and Cape Coral to Naples and Bonita Springs. Every landscape I work on is different, because every homeowner and business owner I meet has a unique story and vision. My job is to take those ideas and turn them into a space you can actually live in — and love — every single day.

At Outdoor Oasis Design and Build, we’re more than just landscapers. We’re a full-service design-build landscaping company, which means we guide you through every step of the process — from that first walk around your yard to the final planting, watering, and celebration. We don’t subcontract the fun stuff or pass you off once the design is done. We're in this with you the whole way through.

You might be wondering what really makes us unique.

Well, let’s start here: when I say we’re custom, I mean it. A lot of companies out there will give you the same five or six plants, the same layout they’ve used on dozens of other homes. Before you know it, your yard looks just like every other house in the neighborhood. That’s not how we do things here.

Instead, I go out of my way to source mature, full-size plants — not the tiny ones you have to wait years to enjoy. I choose unique, often exotic varieties that thrive in our subtropical Southwest Florida climate, but also bring a sense of personality and style to your space. Plants from all over the world do incredibly well here, and I love finding those hidden gems that make your yard feel like a private botanical garden from the very first day. Not only does this approach look better right away, but it also makes long-term care easier — since we’re able to properly space everything from day one.

That’s one of those things people don’t think about right off the bat — spacing. When landscapers use small, immature plants, they often place them too close together just to make it look full in the short term. Give it a year or two and everything’s growing into itself, turning into a tangled mess that’s hard to manage and doesn’t look nearly as good as you hoped. I design with the future in mind — beauty now, and ease later.

But more than the plants, more than the patios, even more than the pools — I believe this work is about connection. When I meet with you, I’m not just looking at square footage or soil composition (though trust me, I’m doing that too). I’m listening for the things that make your dream come to life. Maybe it’s the scent of jasmine in the evening, or the sound of a fountain while you’re reading on the lanai. Maybe it’s that space that attracts butterflies and birds, or one that you can finally meditate in. When we say we create an oasis, we mean it. And it’s exactly the kind of oasis you have been dreaming of.

We’ll sit down and talk through all of it — how you want the space to feel, what you’ll use it for, what you’ve seen and loved, what you’ve seen and hated. I want to know how you entertain, where the sun hits in the morning, and whether your dog likes to dig. Every bit of that shapes the final design.

And when we talk design, we’re not just sketching out where the plants go. We look at how your home flows, both visually and physically, from the inside to the outside. We take into account the views from your windows, the architecture of your house, and how everything can work together to create a seamless experience. You shouldn’t step outside and feel like you’re in a completely separate world — unless, of course, that’s what you want. For some people, the outdoor space becomes their escape. For others, it’s an extension of the living room. Either way, we build it intentionally, so it functions beautifully in every season and stage of life.

I think a lot of people are surprised by how much planning goes into good landscaping.

And that’s the key word — good. Anyone can throw down sod and a few palms. But if you want a truly cohesive, thriving, low-maintenance and stunning landscape, it has to be done with care, knowledge, and experience.

That’s what I bring to the table — and what I love most about this work. Honestly, the best part of my job is seeing the reaction when it’s all done. When you walk out and see your new space for the first time, full-grown and full of life — that’s what makes it all worth it. There’s nothing quite like it.

Our Design Process

Step 1: Consultation

We meet on-site and talk about your space, style, and goals. We’ll walk the property, check where the sunny sections are and the shaded areas are, talk about how you want to use your space, and even look at how your house is built so we can create a good flow between indoors and outdoors.

Creating your outdoor oasis starts with a conversation. Here’s what you can expect when you work with us:

Step 2: Concept & Budget

We work with you to define a budget that works — before the design even starts. That way, we’re always creating something that’s achievable, not just pretty pictures.

Step 3: Design & Collaboration

This is the fun part. I take everything we talked about and start drawing up your new landscape. We’ll go over it together, tweak it, pick plants and features, and make sure it’s exactly what you imagined (or better).

Step 4: Build & Install

Once the design is approved, our expert team gets to work. We handle everything — digging, building, planting, irrigation — all of it.

Step 5: Educate & Enjoy

After installation, we walk you through your new space. I’ll tell you about every tree, plant, and feature — what it is, how to care for it, and how to keep it looking its best for years to come.

Why Oasis Design and Build is Different

Now, a little bit about me: before I started Outdoor Oasis Design and Build, I served in the United States Army, and that experience has shaped everything I do. In the military, everything revolves around precision, timelines, and doing the job right the first time. You can’t afford to miss details, and you certainly can’t miss deadlines. That mindset stayed with me through my time as a project manager for another company, where I helped lead the construction of everything from pools and decks to screen enclosures and outdoor kitchens.

All of that background — both in design and in leadership — has helped me run this company the way I always wanted: with a focus on quality, professionalism, communication, and follow-through. We’re not the guys who disappear mid-project. We keep things clean, we stay on schedule, and we take pride in our work. Period.

So when we take on your project, you can expect:

  • Timeliness — We show up when we say we will.

  • Cleanliness — We leave your yard better than we found it.

  • Professionalism — From start to finish, we respect your home and your vision.

When you hire Outdoor Oasis Design and Build, you’re getting a team that’s genuinely excited to help you fall in love with your outdoor space. We’re not just planting trees — we’re building something meaningful, something lasting. A place for memories, for gatherings, for peaceful mornings and fun-filled nights. Whether we’re redesigning your front yard or creating an entirely new backyard oasis, we bring that same level of care and creativity to every project.

And here’s the thing — I’m not going to push you into something you don’t need or want. Some people come to me with a clear vision. Others just know they want something better but aren’t sure what that is yet. Either way, we’ll figure it out together. My job is to help you bring that dream into focus, and then make it real. I won’t give you a proposal that’s thousands or even hundreds of dollars more than what you say your budget is.

So if you’re a homeowner here in Southwest Florida — whether you’re in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Estero, or anywhere nearby — and you’re ready to invest in a space that feels like you, I’d love to talk. We’ll walk your property, explore your ideas, talk through budgets, and start crafting a design that transforms your outdoor living space into something truly special.

Don’t worry if you’re not sure where to start. That’s exactly what I’m here for. Landscaping can feel like a big project, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. With the right guidance, it can actually be exciting, creative, and — dare I say — fun.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about Outdoor Oasis Design and Build. I’d be honored to be a part of your journey toward a more beautiful, personalized, and livable outdoor space. Ready to start designing your own backyard oasis?
